Ah Self…

Ah Self
You parade before the mirror
With your high hat and swanky dress
You turn from side to side
Showing off that bodily figure
Waiting for that approval clap
Ah Self
You came with your high heels
Red and shiny they are
Elegant it says
Power it seems to comunicate
You stand almost proud not knowing that
It is but flimsiness holding the entire weight
Ah Self
Perception of reality

Sometimes what is perceived is not reality at all.
I’ve been fooled!

Home
February 11, 2009 at 11:02 pm (Short Musings & Quotes)
It is the people that makes a home.
Having Gabe and my sister over in Singapore the past few days was a beautiful blessing. Somehow it lessen the foreign and lonesome feeling I felt for the first 2 weeks and made the place a pleasing one because I had memories to keep. Maybe it’s just not people alone that makes a home.
Maybe it is the memories that you share with people that makes a place beautiful and comfortable.
Words in my ears

Sometimes you say too much, drowning my voice with your words
When all is really needed is your listening ear
Blogs with a Soul
January 6, 2009 at 4:46 pm (Short Musings & Quotes)
It’s interesting to see how blogs reveal the soul within a person. It is during those times you feel connected with people in some ways. There are no more difference in class, in wealth or in skills. Underneath it all, we echo the same longing, experience the same ups and downs of life, taste the different emotions. We are after all, human being.
Food and Tragedies
December 8, 2008 at 11:26 pm (Faith Moments, Short Musings & Quotes)
Reflection on tragedies, death and terminal illness using the analogy of food that is inspired by my conversation with Gabe earlier today.
Bad food or good food. It is part of the experience in eating.
We can’t always escape eating bad food. However this does not mean we stop eating altogether after tasting some bad ones.
Maybe the bad food enhances the good ones and make it truly superb.
Likewise with life.
We can’t always escape the tragedies that befalls human being. Alongside with the good in life, we also have the bad. Do we then throw away life just because some bad happen? That is foolishness.
The bad is bad. It is often painful. However, I think it is as we experience the sorrow of this life, we begin to truly understand the heights of the joys life offer.
The bad in life is also a faint whisper that reminds us that life was never meant to be like that at the start. Even as we shed our tears right now, we are reminded that one day all tears will be wiped away and things will be made right.
We await in hope for that day to come.
Change
December 8, 2008 at 11:10 pm (Short Musings & Quotes)
Our end goal is not change. Rather it is to know Christ.
If we start from the premise of change, we miss the point of it all.
