Trust in the Valley

When you can’t trace His hands, trust His heart.

It’s tough isn’t it?
You cry till you are hoarse
Almost a sense of abandonment
Senses tricks you
You feel anything but up high

The shadow of the valleys
They lengthen till it darkens my sights
I can see nothing
But the very ground in which I stand
Even that is a faint view

I remember however
Your whispers during the day
The promises uttered
Never will I leave you or forsake you
Echoes of it ringing in my ear

In the valley
It is silent now
Making my fears seem loud
Yet I remember You
And to You I cling

I trust Your heart
Even when I can’t trace Your hand
Soon, someday soon
Daylight will break
Till then You are building me step by step

Incomprehensible

It’s a mystery
Your love is a profound mystery
I simply do not comprehend
A prodigal daughter I am
Sometimes rebellious
Sometimes penitent
I am a whirlwind of emotions
Yet…
You still love me
I don’t comprehend
Your love is a profound mystery to me

O Sacred King by Matt Redman

O Sacred King, O Holy King
How can I honour You rightly,
Honour that’s fit for Your name?
O Sacred friend, O Holy friend
I don’t take what You give lightly
Friendship instead of disgrace.

For it’s the mystery of the universe
You’re the God of holiness,
Yet You welcome souls like me
And with the blessing of Your Father’s heart
You disciple the ones You love
There’s kindness in Your majesty

Jesus those who recognise Your power
Know just how wonderful You are
That You draw near

Run

Run
Why do I run from the very thing I need?
Breathless

Love
I love you
You kept telling me
Yet the line is filled with static
I can’t hear You clearly

Run
Why do I run from the very thing I need?
Breathless

You stretched out your hand
Longing to embrace me
Yet I squirm still
Almost afraid of that fierce love of Yours

Why am I afraid?

Run
Why do I run from the very thing I need?
Breathless

You kept Your pursuit
Echoes of Your love
Ringing in my head

Don’t come too near
I pleaded
My heart can’t take it
Unworthy I am to stand before Your Presence

Yet You call out to me still
It’s okay, dear child
It’s okay
I know
And I love you still

Tears
Fall down like rain
How can I resist?
This fierce love of Yours

I surrender

Run
I still run
But to You
